Role

John's role is to keep up to date with and understand in detail the huge array of technology thats available.  John works closely with clients to help them adopt and implement technology, particulalry that related to infrastructure, communications and server systems.    John is technical authority on all infrastructure and server system projects and also runs our regular demonstration events.  John specialises in server system migrations and upgrades, WAN configurations, Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery.  John also helps Greg with R&D planning and activity.

Career History

John completed a degree in Business Information Technology in 2002 and began his career as a Network Engineer for a large PC manufacturer.  Later, looking for a more challenging role John joined an IT consultancy as Senior Systems Engineer.  Working his way up to a position of Consultant,  John gained a broad range of experience in solution design and project management - working with a range of clients including The Stationery Office, London Government Information Unit, Scottish Parliament and Astron Document Services to name a few.

Interests

John writes a Blog covering technology that is of interest to him, http://johnworsfold.blogspot.com/. Outside of technology John has a black-belt in Shotokan Karate, is a regular player at the P1 football events and enjoys playing, badminton and golf.
